Product Description:
CKC-F-268 is a water-based, low-VOC, non-toxic, intumescent fire-resistant coating. It is
rated Class A. It comes in white and can be pigmented. It can either be painted over or applied to existing paint. It is odorless and flat, and when it is exposed to flames, it intumesces (swells) 60 times its dry-film thickness to create a protective barrier against heat.
Structures and Surfaces:
CKC-268-F is ideal for, but not limited to public buildings, warehouses, hospitals, nursing homes, restaurants, hotels, theaters and military applications. Among other surfaces, it can be applied to sheetrock, wood, fiberboard, cement, polyurea and foam materials.
Per Gallon Rate Coverage:
One gallon has 8.8 pounds, which covers approximately 250 sq. ft. at 10 mils dry/16 wet.
Application Instructions:
Surface must be clean and dry and product stirred thoroughly before using. To apply, use a brush, roller or airless sprayer. If thinning is required, use a small amount of tap water (±5%). Do not apply when surface or air temperature is below 50ºF (10ºC), or when relative humidity is above 85%. Use water to clean equipment.
Drying Time:
Dries to touch in approximately 30 minutes (hard dry 12-6 hours and full cure in 2-3 days). Allow at least 4 hours of drying time between coats. Damp or humid weather may lengthen the drying time.
Equipment :
Graco or any similar airless sprayer with 2500 - 3000 psi. Recommended tip size is 0.015 - 0.021 inch.
